Byron Bay Wedding Ceremony

Byron Bay has beautiful scenery and is regarded as the ultimate ‘I do’ destination for most couples. It is fairly easy to organize a wedding ceremony here, all within your allocated budget. Whether you’re planning a private beachside wedding or a chic formal function, there are plenty of stunning locations in Byron Bay.

From the magnificent Byron Bay lighthouse, unspoilt beauty of the pass beach, the quiet Wategos beach or the Clarkes beach, you are spoilt for choice.

If you’ve chosen an exquisite beachside venue, do note that you need council approval approximately 6 weeks prior to the date of the wedding.

For Clarkes Beach and Tallow Beach, you need approval from the Byron Shire Council. You will be required to lodge a temporary license application to use council land.

Wategos, The Pass and the Lighthouse are under the care of Cape Byron Trust.  To request permission to use any of these sites you can contact Cape Byron Trust on 02 6620 9300.

For weddings in Ballina Shire (such as Lennox Head and surrounding areas) you will need to go through Ballina Shire Council. You may also need a Wedding Photography Consent Form for photography at one of Byron Bay's public places.

Make sure you book your venue as far ahead as possible as Byron Bay is gradually booming as a popular destination for wedding ceremonies.
