Rainbow Ride Cycle Challenge

Byron Bay Rainbow Ride Cycle Challenge is one of the most beautiful and challenging rides in Australia. Supporting Byron Emergency Accommodation Project (BEAP) the Rainbow Ride cycle challenge takes in the Northern Rivers Hinterland known as the Rainbow region from Byron bay NSW. The Rainbow Ride Cycle Challenge welcomes you to come to Byron bay for the weekend to soak up the sun, beaches, lighthouse walks and participate in the Rainbow Ride.

Join us for a challenging ride on a scenic course of rolling terrain as it leaves from the historic Byron bay Lighthouse (160k/100k/60k neutral start) and continues through Byron bay and out onto the end of Ewingsdale Road through to Myocum Road (with spectacular views of the surrounding hinterland) then into Mullumbimby with amazing views of Mt Chincogan.

Turning inland to Main Arm and through the Pocket Road to the village of Billinudgel (The New 60k events turns back to Byron from here) and onto Tweed valley way (the old Pacfic coast highway) through Mooball (the 100k turns here towards Pottsville) and across the Burringbar range with fantastic views of Mt Warning, turning along Baker rd with the Tweed river and valley of contrasts in the background, then on towards Uki, Stokers Siding, turning back across the Burringbar range, then out to the Pottsville village coast and beaches.

Coming back to Oceanshores and climbing and descending over the technical Coolamon Scenic extension back to Mullumbimby, through the Myocum countryside before returning to celebrate your finish at the Ewingsdale Hall.

This is a sport cycle challenge event, not a race, and is open to anyone with a bike. (Road bikes only on 160k events, Road Bikes, Hybrids and MTBs are welcome on the 100k/60k) This ride has lots of climbing and we encourage you to train for the event and achieve your personal best.
