So what is "Schoolies Week"???
Schoolies Week started on the Gold Coast in the 1970's and is now a rite of passage for all School Leavers across Australia. This is the period where all Year 12 school leavers finally get to celebrate the end of their School years. This usually takes place between mid-November and mid-December when year 12 students Leaving Certificate exams are over.
The main area of schoolies is on Queensland's Gold Coast, however Byron Bay has become a major destination for that more laid back schoolies coming of age. The Sunshine Coast, Airlie Beach and Tropical North QLD are also major Schoolie destinations however these tend to be more party towns. Each Schoolies week traditionally attracts a different state of school leavers, so each State celebrates with their fellow students.
Every year thousands of Year 12 students from around Australia and New Zealand make plans for a holiday to celebrate their end of school years and the completion of their Leaving Certificate.
Schoolies Week is often the first holiday these students go on without their families so this coming of age creates it's own special needs. Byron Bay Accom understands this and have put a number of safety measures in place to keep Schoolies safe on the streets and at their accommodation. This includes qualified and licensed security guards patrolling all 'schoolies' properties, as well as individual Photo ID building entry passes at selected properties.
Not all properties will accept Schoolies bookings!!! However Byron Bay Accom has been booking Schoolies Week for the past 7 years and is the market leader for this group so feel free to give us a call if you need any further information. Please read below ...........

Week 3: 4 December - 11 December 2010 ** ONLY Belongil Camping & Cabins can be booked online for the 3rd week. For any other enquiries for the 3rd week, please phone us to check availability and correct schoolies rates/bond. BBA reserve the right to cancel schoolies bookings made online for these dates.
