Three days, 100 featured writers and thinkers, 150 volunteers to keep it all running smoothly and some 5000 visitors – all the ingredients that make Byron Bay Writers Festival one of the hottest literary events in Australia. It all takes place on the sweeping lawns of the Byron Bay Beach Resort with the huge white marquees that have become an event trademark. The festival includes live radio broadcasts, panel discussions, readings, book signings, conversations, theatre, literary luncheons and more, with activities to suit all age groups. Byron’s festival of words and ideas is not to be missed.
This years Writers Festival will take place on the 25-27 July, with workshops running from the 21st. In 2008, the Festival celebrates and welcomes many of the newest voices to the centre stage. Within the program you will find first time writers rubbing shoulders with their well established peers and we are promised a wealth of wonderful new books and writing.
